Some of us ran the San Diego Mud Run this past weekend,
and it was so much fun that we want to do another one! (pictures on facebook, picasa...).
There is one at Camp Pendleton on Saturday Oct 18
that we can still register for.
Who's interested in.....
* getting some great exercise
* having a great time with teammates
* getting cheered on by marines (and helping to raise money for the families of our troops)
* climbing walls! (climbing!!)
* jumping hay bales!
* tire jumping obstacles!
* crawling through mud pits!
* GETTING REALLY REALLY DIRTY!!
* and then good eats afterward =)

I think all of you got the message from Janice a month ago about making directed blood donations at the Children's Hospital in Long Beach for her friend Melissa. My sister and I actually went to do that 2 weeks ago... I wasn't fit to donate then, but I'll go back soon to try again, and my sister successfully donated earlier this week!
Anyway, I wanted to let you all know about another way to help child cancer patients that might interest you...
On Saturday, April 26, the American Cancer Society will have a black-tie optional benefit, specifically benefiting children with cancer. All profits (not just a percentage like with most benefits!) will be given to the ACS. I'm helping out with the production of the event, so I'll probably be there running around! We'll have multiple entree options, 3 bottles of wine on the table, gift bags, and get this -- it's going to be in Beverly Hills across from Denzel Washington's home! The whole neighborhood is invited, so if you like celebrity-spotting, this will be a chance to do that up close! Of if you're looking to treat yourself and your spouse to an amazing, sophisticated night out, this would be a wonderful night to do it, and you'd be helping a fantastic cause. And if you really want to do it up-style, you can even rent a limo from one of our sponsors and they will drive you to/from the event at a promotional rate!
